Project Community Crisis Center was created to address the impact of the Covid on families during the crisis as well as provide the necessary tools for recovery from the impact of Covid. To accomplish this task our key executive officers reached out to the public at large to find out the exact nature of their needs. Once this was established, Community Crisis Center food bank outreach and resource center was developed. The center main goal is to take food, essentials, and resources any place within the Los Angeles and Los Angeles County region rural areas or double burden areas where non to low-income BIPOC/migrants families are double burden, facing food assistance desert and/or food desert (areas of a community 0.5-10 miles from any food source or have no food pantry or food assistance within that distance). Currently our food bank outreach has targeted 26 community areas that have been seriously impacted and we have implemented our services into those areas by creating food distribution subsites (Hubs). These subsites empower these communities to become our food service partners, giving them the ability to provide food and essentials, volunteerism and employment opportunities into these neglected community areas. Out of the 26 communities that we're currently operating our services via home deliveries, 11 of these communities have food distribution subsites that are empowering their communities. Our project has collaborated with our partners for the opportunity to open 45 of these food distributions and resource hubs within the next several years.
